Plymouth Planning Board adopts conduct code, rejects both Cedarville committee candidates

PLYMOUTH — February 12, 2026 — Plymouth Planning Board unanimously adopts a policies and procedures handbook and code of conduct after roughly a year of drafting. The board voted 5-0 Thursday to accept both governance documents, which town counsel has reviewed and which codify existing practice alongside Massachusetts ethics law requirements; one notable edit expanded a communications restriction from "social media" to "social media and mass communications" after members raised concerns about email blasts and other outlets. In separate action, the board declined to fill a Cedarville Steering Committee vacancy, rejecting part-time summer resident Michael Lasnik 1-3 and failing to second a motion for prior committee member Joseph Asatatu — the chair citing that steering committees function best when members are embedded in the community year-round. The seat will be re-advertised. The board also unanimously recommended ZBA approval of a setback waiver for homeowners Greg and Jesse Karsner of 7 Bay Colony Drive, whose pool cabana post was found to sit 3 feet 9 inches from the property line rather than the required 10 feet.
