The Town of Plymouth announced Oct. 16 that soil test borings for a drainage wick well design will begin the week of Oct. 19 on Manomet Avenue between Brewster Avenue and Briggs Road.

The work is expected to take about one week, barring bad weather or other unforeseen circumstances, and will run from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Traffic cones, barrels and signage will mark the work zone to alert drivers and pedestrians. The town says residents can expect temporary parking restrictions, minor traffic delays and possible daytime detours, and it is asking that no cars be parked on the street within the work zone between 7 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. Individual driveways are expected to remain accessible during the work.

The project is being carried out by contractor Geosearch, Inc. The town says it and the contractor will try to minimize inconvenience to residents and visitors, though some disruption is expected given the nature of construction.

Residents with questions can contact Town Engineer Richard Bosse at 508-747-1620 ext. 10125.
