The Town of Plymouth announced a roadway re-surfacing project on Cheryl Avenue, Cushing Drive, Thrush Avenue and Vinal Avenue, set to begin Oct. 22.

Work will run from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, and from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturdays if needed, weather and circumstances permitting. The contractor plans to start with Cushing Drive.

The project involves roadway reclamation, which grinds down the existing paved surface, followed by repaving. The town expects the work to take about four weeks to complete.

Before construction begins, traffic barrels and signage will be placed to alert motorists and pedestrians. Residents may see temporary parking restrictions, minor traffic delays and possible daytime detours. The town is asking residents not to park on the street within the work zone between 7 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. and to find alternative parking during that time. Driveway access will remain available except when crews are working directly in front of a driveway.

The town's contractor for the project is Pawtucket Hot Mix Asphalt, Inc. Officials said the town and the contractor will try to minimize inconvenience to residents and visitors, though some disruption is expected due to the nature of construction.

Residents are asked to drive carefully and stay alert to activity in the area. Questions or concerns can be directed to Town Engineer Richard Bosse at 508-747-1620, ext. 10125.
