Court Street nighttime closures begin Nov. 1
Plymouth says nighttime closures and detours begin on Court Street Nov. 1 for about a week while crews work on the Cherry Street water main replacement project, with southbound traffic rerouted via South Spooner Street and Standish Avenue.
The Town of Plymouth announced Oct. 30 that nighttime road closures with traffic detours will begin on Court Street on Sunday, Nov. 1, as construction continues on the Cherry Street water main replacement project.
Work will take place from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. and is expected to last about a week. During that time, Court Street will remain open to northbound traffic.
The stretch of Court Street between South Spooner Street and Hamilton Street will be closed to through traffic, though it will remain accessible to local residential traffic. Southbound drivers heading toward Plymouth Center will be detoured onto South Spooner Street, then to Standish Avenue, continuing south to Hamilton Street before returning to Court Street.
The town said accommodations for residents will be made as necessary, and emergency vehicles will be allowed through the work zone at all times. Police will direct traffic through the area, and the detour route will be clearly marked.
