Plymouth Planning Board Backs Cherry Street Gas Station With Environmental Conditions

PLYMOUTH — January 14, 2026 — Plymouth Planning Board recommends approval of Cherry Street gas station and convenience store, with conditions. The board voted 4-0-1 Wednesday to advise the Zoning Board of Appeals to approve a special permit for T.L. Edwards, Inc. to build a 6,000-square-foot convenience store with 12 fuel pumps and a drive-through at 360 Cherry Street, with Chair Steven Bolotin abstaining because the town engineering department's review — containing five general comments, 12 drainage comments, four transportation comments, and 12 water and sewer comments — arrived after the board's packets and was not fully before members. Planning Director Lauren Lind confirmed no tobacco licenses are available in Plymouth, barring tobacco sales at the site, and recommended approval subject to standard conditions. The board added its own requirements, including groundwater monitoring consideration, bollards at building entrances, additional crosswalks and pavement striping, and enhanced do-not-enter signage at the Commerce Way right-turn-only driveway. The project goes to the ZBA on January 26.
