Select Board secures $3M grant at Manomet town hall
Select Board · Meeting of August 18, 2026
Plymouth lands a $3 million state grant as Manomet residents erupt over a 40B developer's broken promises. Town Manager Derek Brindisi announced the Municipal Vulnerability Preparedness grant for downtown drainage and sidewalks, then handed out a hotline, 508-322-3431, after residents including Christine Sordillo and Kevin Doyle said Champion Builders has ignored a dust-control agreement near its development off Taylor Avenue. Sordillo said workers "inserted an American flag instead of a tarp" atop a 70-foot dirt pile.
Select Board member David Golden Jr. said the town needs to "tell the state and demand that they come to Plymouth," while member Kevin Canty defended his prior week's vote against a $300,000 Shallop Pond Estates road-acceptance article, telling residents "I represent all 65,000 plus people that live in the community." The board adjourned 4-0.
