Plymouth board sets new rules, closes for litigation

Select Board · Meeting of September 22, 2026

Plymouth Select Board sets new decorum rules, then closes for four legal matters. Chair Deb Iaquinto told members comments must route through the chair, with no interruptions or personal attacks, after public friction among board members. The board approved $800,000 in combined Massachusetts Clean Energy Center grants to three companies piloting AI flood, erosion and land-use tools in Plymouth, and authorized Treasurer Patricia Meachen to sell two tax-foreclosed properties.

Minutes from a July 28 meeting were tabled a third time over disputed language from a dangerous-dog hearing discussion involving Selectman Bill Keohan. Town Manager Derek Brindisi briefed the board on nor'easter preparations and a memo sent to 162 town meeting members on Community Preservation Act spending restrictions. The board then voted 4-0, with Selectman David Golden Jr. absent, to enter executive session on Nuclear Host Community litigation, a Northern Construction Service, LLC matter, Full Sail, Inc. v.

Town of Plymouth, and UAINE et al. v. Town of Plymouth — with no plan to return to open session.
