Plymouth Awarded $3 Million MVP Grant For Downtown Green Infrastructure

PLYMOUTH — The Town of Plymouth was awarded a $3 million Municipal Vulnerability Preparedness grant to bring green infrastructure and improved pedestrian connections to the downtown area, town officials announced Wednesday.

TOWN HALL

Town Manager Derek Brindisi and Select Board Chair Deb Iaquinto announced the $3 million MVP award Wednesday, calling it a win for downtown resilience and walkability. The state grant will fund green infrastructure improvements and better pedestrian connections throughout the downtown core, though the town did not release a detailed project timeline or design plan alongside the announcement. The MVP program funds municipal projects that address climate-related risks such as flooding and stormwater runoff, making downtown drainage and streetscape upgrades likely priorities as the project moves forward.
