Cemetery Commission sets layouts for new memorial cemetery

Cemetery Committee · Meeting of May 20, 2026

PLYMOUTH — Cemetery Commission finalizes layouts for new Freedom Memorial Cemetery opening in 2027. The commission approved section designations including 40 infant graves at no lot cost for those three years of age or under, with opening and closing fees; flat markers only in the infant section. Veterans and their spouses will have flat markers in the veteran section, and a scattering garden will feature a single stone marker.

Contractor Green Acres expects fall completion. The commission deferred a decision on cemetery rates, last updated in 2020, pending research on comparable rates and consultation with the DPW director.
