Plymouth Center Steering Committee advances community award framework and hears police update. Robert Shaw reported the traffic unit remains under development with new recruits beginning May 5, and the department implemented a 4x4 work schedule to improve officer health and recruitment. The committee discussed the recent blizzard response, with the police and fire departments coordinating assistance for stranded residents; a Select Board and DPW workshop will evaluate emergency preparedness.
Rick Vayo's proposed 28-unit luxury apartment complex at 135 and 137 Sandwich Street won Planning Board approval, with two units reserved for moderate-income tenants. The committee will draft bylaws for a community award in April with implementation planned for June.
