Plymouth's Center for Active Living board approved February minutes and prepared for an April 11 budget vote. Director Cheryl Jones reported that 170 Meals on Wheels meals were delivered February 27 after staff returned from a week-long blizzard closure, and that 70 patrons attended an entertainment performance by Laura James. The Marketing Committee is moving forward with an enhanced transportation program, funded by an earmark from State Senator Dylan Fernandes, targeting a May soft launch and June grand opening.
The board discussed volunteer recruitment and retention strategies drawn from a Massachusetts Council on Aging webinar, with plans for a volunteer appreciation luncheon on May 27 at American Legion Post 440. The town is running 3 million dollars in deficit spending for snow removal and has applied for reimbursement.
