PLYMOUTH — Distinguished Visitors Committee unanimously approves $750 to purchase a welcome banner for Shichigahama delegation. Chair Kelly McElreath and four committee members reviewed planning for the July 2026 visit, which includes six adult officials and 13 students from the Japanese sister city. Events planned include a 250th anniversary celebration at the 1749 Courthouse, a Student Business Fair display, and a community garden event hosted by the Herring Pond Wampanoag Tribe.

The committee is recruiting additional host families and coordinating with downtown businesses and a Providence event sponsor.
