Board of Health hears updates on kratom regulations, shelter

Plymouth Board of Health meets to review public health services and emergency shelter programs. The board convened via Zoom Wednesday evening for a routine session featuring presentations from Public Health Director Karen Keane on the division's community role and Sue Giovanetti of the Plymouth Coalition for the Homeless on the new emergency family shelter at Industrial Park Road. Proposed kratom regulations have been referred to the town council and Massachusetts Association of Health Boards for review following public comment by Dan Griffin of The Vape Way.

Chair Teri Reid, Vice Chair Meg Payne, and member Barry Potvin reported on the state health association conference.
