PLYMOUTH — Zoning Board approves MEGRYCO's 26-unit residential project at 139 Sandwich Street. Chair Michael Main, members Michael Leary, Kevin O'Reilly, and Ed Conroy voted four to one in favor, with alternate David Peck opposed. The project, reduced from an original 33 units and cut from 34 feet to 30 feet in height following neighborhood input, replaces two deteriorated 1965-era medical office buildings.
Traffic engineer testimony projected a 72 to 75 percent reduction in peak-hour trips compared to a fully occupied medical office use. Extensive public comment raised concerns about Sandwich Street traffic safety, building massing relative to nearby homes, parking adequacy, and stormwater management. The Board approved eight enforceable conditions including construction management plan review and Fire and Engineering sign-off.
