Zoning Board approves Alden's Reach expansion to 244 units with veteran housing and road work.
Zoning Board of Appeals · Meeting of March 23, 2026
PLYMOUTH — Zoning Board approves Alden's Reach expansion while tabling pool house and denying third-story addition. The Board unanimously approved Thorndike Development's modification to add twelve units to the Comprehensive Permit, increasing the project from 232 to 244 residential units, and authorized a veteran preference program for four of approximately forty-three affordable units, contingent on ten conditions including three hundred linear feet of additional road milling and repaving within Shallow Pond Estates, an updated water model, and screening mitigation for nearby residents. In separate actions, the Board unanimously denied without prejudice Michael and Carol Skorulski's application to construct a third-story addition at 107C Taylor Avenue, citing the applicant's unwillingness to install fire suppression systems and concerns about massing and structural proportions in a densely built neighborhood; approved Edward Blackwell's demolition and reconstruction at 50 Cherry Street; approved Murtagh Fintan's demolition and reconstruction at 115 White Horse Road; approved Sharon Doonan's second-floor addition at 57 West Long Pond Road; and allowed Michael and Kelly Dunphy to withdraw without prejudice their application for a pool house and gazebo at 4 Brown Bear Circle due to zoning bylaw interpretation questions.
