PLYMOUTH — West Plymouth Steering Committee approves January minutes as Ponds Association highlights water quality work. Hampton Watkins of Plymouth Ponds Association reported on efforts to address pollution in approximately 480 Plymouth water bodies through testing programs and community outreach. The committee learned that septic systems are the primary source of pond contamination, alongside road runoff and agriculture, with the town researching feasibility of extending municipal sewage lines to high-density neighborhoods.
The group also approved a plan by the Trails Group to complete the Bay Circuits Trail and noted that a Tractor Supply project in West Plymouth Square is under Zoning Board review.
