PLYMOUTH — Visitor Services Board approves $1,500 for Pilgrim Progress as thirteen organizations present tourism and event funding requests. Chair Steven Lydon opened the February 17 meeting by noting the Board's budget is down $20,000 from the prior year due to a 15 percent contract increase to See Plymouth. The Board unanimously approved The Pilgrim Progress on a motion by Richard Quintal, seconded by Jen Stanish.
Presentations included the Dark Orchard All-Persons Trail seeking $100,000 of a $1 million ADA-accessible waterfront project, the Alzheimer's Association's Plymouth Walk drawing 3,000 annual participants, the Plymouth Lions Club's Thirsty Pilgrim Oktoberfest fundraiser, and a Harbor Plan revision seeking $15,000 to update the 2016 plan following $32.9 million in completed harbor improvements. The Chamber of Commerce presented five initiatives, including a holiday retail marketing campaign that generated 1.3 million digital views, and the Spire Center proposed an August 22 Country Music Festival to test demand for expanded country programming.
