PLYMOUTH — Southern Plymouth County PHE Collaborative approves nursing, food inspections, and tick kit spending. The committee voted unanimously to contract with Cape Cod Visiting Nurses Association for primary nursing services and secondary MAVEN disease-reporting coverage for Carver and Plympton, and to hire Kathy DeVasto Piemonte for food inspections to meet state requirements. In Term 3 spending, the collaborative committed $20,000 to purchase 3,500 tick kits — up from 3,000 purchased in FY25 — and $2,500 for Mental Health First Aid training capped at 30 attendees and aimed at allied health high school students and community organizations.

Epidemiologist Devon Donovan reported 174 MAVEN events in February with 103 influenza cases and 52 COVID-19 cases across six towns; year-to-date events totaled 728.
