Select Board · Meeting of January 6, 2026

Plymouth Select Board adopts police department's immigration enforcement policy as official town guidance. After nearly four hours of public testimony on ICE collaboration and immigration enforcement, the Board voted 4-0 to make the Police Department's existing February 2025 policy public on the town website rather than enact Selectman Kevin Canty's proposed separate town policy. Police Chief Dana Flynn, Town Counsel Kate McKay, and other Board members expressed concerns about maintaining dual policies on the same subject.

The Board also approved administrative notes covering a $5,000 state earmark for PFAS-free firefighter gear, a $50 donation to the Center for Active Living, and Personnel Code amendments formalizing positions for a Paralegal, Labor and Employment Counsel, and on-call Fire Chaplain. The FY2027 budget discussion was postponed to a supplemental meeting Friday at 4:00 PM.
