PLYMOUTH — The Recycling Committee agreed to pilot Styrofoam collection in fall, prioritizing partnerships with regional processors over equipment purchases. Chair Ken Stone led the committee in reviewing a Falmouth model and identified boat shrink-wrap collection as a future initiative to begin planning now. The committee noted that roughly one-third of incoming transfer-station material by weight is recycled; two-thirds goes to incineration.

Members outlined a multi-channel outreach plan and identified a need to recruit a dedicated project lead and engage the roster of 47 vetted volunteers. Data from FY21 through FY25 showed revenue volatility tied to market conditions and reporting inconsistencies.
