Recycling Committee · Meeting of June 24, 2026

PLYMOUTH — The Recycling Committee discussed composting and expanded polystyrene recycling programs ahead of state food-waste diversion requirements taking effect by 2028-2030. The committee assigned DPW Staff Liaison James Downey to contact Black Earth and other composting vendors to assess feasibility and pricing, and assigned Todd Koep of MassDEP MAC to follow up on expanded polystyrene processing capacity. The committee reviewed operations of its active swap shop, which opened in May with an average of approximately 136 cars per event.

Clerk Janine Bishop was assigned to finalize a July newsletter for posting on town channels and Sustainable Plymouth.
