PLYMOUTH — Precinct 17 caucus vets spring warrant articles ahead of town meeting. Advisory Finance Committee representatives Maria and Joe Lally fielded questions on Article 1 ($318,000), Article 3 parade funding ($100,000 total with $75,000 from visitor group), and Article 10 on retirement cost-sharing for new hires. Article 10, opposed three-to-two by the Select Board and unanimously rejected by the A&F, drew sharp criticism from precinct members Steve Lydon and Joe Lally for bypassing union consultation and the insurance advisory committee.
Article 33, concerning Training Green irrigation and lighting, faced objections from Kathy Bell and resident Ken Stone over drought impacts and unwarranted expense. Article 37, a Community Trust Bylaw codifying police non-collaboration with ICE on civil immigration matters, earned approval from both the Select Board and A&F.
