Precinct 17 approves prior minutes, hears South Plymouth development concerns

PLYMOUTH — Precinct 17 heard detailed resident concerns about environmental and public safety impacts of proposed South Wareham Road development. Resident Kristen Macedo presented a petition signed by 50 residents requesting independent environmental review, cumulative groundwater and traffic analysis, and additional agency scrutiny before approvals proceed. The petition focused on drinking water protection in a state-designated groundwater recharge area, habitat fragmentation affecting rare species, wastewater infrastructure capacity, and school and municipal service strain from continued high-density south Plymouth development.
Steve Bolotin acknowledged the concerns and indicated five speed bumps and four raised sidewalks will be installed in the development area; he stated he is pursuing groundwater certifications and a four-way stop at Sandy Beach and Wareham Road.
