PLYMOUTH — Precinct 12 Town Meeting Members previewed spring and special town meeting articles on April 1. The group, chaired by Pat Adelmann, engaged substantive debate over Article 37, which would codify the town's existing non-cooperation with Immigration and Customs Enforcement in noncriminal matters; Vice Chair Tess Brennan and member Amy Heine voiced support, while Chris Ayers raised public-cost concerns. Richard Serkey explained Article 10, which would tie retirees' medical insurance costs to their retirement date rather than hire date for employees hired after enactment, with the town facing a 600 million dollar Other Post-Employment Benefits liability.
Bill Keohan presented Article 14, the Nuclear Stabilization Fund, requesting 500,000 dollars from free cash to position the town to acquire Holtec's 1,500 acres if available; David Trudell called the land the town's largest potential acquisition opportunity.
