Plymouth Select Board approves beach sticker rate increase as storm recovery continues

Plymouth Select Board extends Fremont Street one-way pilot for 12 months and approves $5 beach sticker increases. Town Manager Derek Brindisi detailed the severe impact of winter storm Hernando: 27,000 homes without power, nearly 1,000 police calls during the week, 651 fire calls, and 380 roads cleared by 100-plus personnel and contractors. The Board voted 4-1 to raise sticker rates; Chair Golden opposed the increase.
Three other motions passed: the Fremont Street traffic experiment continues 3-1-1 with Selectman Keohan abstaining as a resident; Kathryn Ann Morini was unanimously appointed to the Board of Health; and a foreclosed property at 51 Cypress Street was approved for sale. The Board also appointed Tamao Buffalo-Ellis to the Distinguished Visitors Committee in a split vote, and recognized retiring Fire Department Captain Doug Pigeon (44 years) and Airport Supervisor Will Hayes (38 years).
