Plymouth Historical Commission accepts Parting Ways Collection from Plimoth Patuxet

Plymouth Historical Commission unanimously accepted a Parting Ways excavation collection from Plimoth Patuxet. The materials, including color slides, photographic negatives, pipe stems, and notes from the 1970s dig led by Dr. James Deetz, complement artifacts already on display at the 1749 Courthouse Museum and genealogy holdings at the Plymouth Public Library.
Dr. Patrick Browne updated commissioners on the Plymouth 250 Commemoration Committee's June 27th event in Town Square, which will include speakers, flag raising, choral performance, and historical readings. The commission discussed historic house markers signage, with David Furlow volunteering to install a test sign at his Carver Street home, and deferred appointment of a member to the Community Preservation Committee.
