Plymouth For All Committee advances community engagement, reviews hate crime data

PLYMOUTH — The Plymouth For All Committee reviewed five-year hate crime data and advanced an archeological-survey initiative at a development site. The committee unanimously approved its Treasurer's Report showing a balance of $4,776.50, the highest in recent years. According to Plymouth Police Department data, 40 hate incidents were reported over five years, with anti-Black incidents the most frequent at 20 cases (50 percent); incidents peaked at 14 each in 2022 and 2023 before declining to 7 in the most recent year.
The committee agreed to submit a statement to the Zoning Board of Appeals requesting a development pause at 71 Hedges Pond Road to allow for an archeological survey requested by the Wampanoag Herring Pond Tribe.
