PLYMOUTH — Southern Plymouth County Public Health Collaborative halts hiring and approves baby shower event. The committee voted unanimously to hold a Community Baby Shower at Plymouth North High School on May 2, 2026, as part of the town's Health and Safety Fair, with a future second event possible in Wareham or Carver. Due to uncertain state funding beyond the FY27 PHE contract, the committee declined to interview candidates for Public Health Nurse and Food Inspector positions, deciding instead to hire consultants; a proposed Cape Cod VNA contract for essential services could not be voted on due to lost quorum.
Epidemiologist Devon Donovan reported peak flu season across the region and is leading Community Partnership Mapping efforts. FY26 spending stands at $172,884.86, or 33.9 percent of allocated PHE funds.
