PHE Collaborative approves $3,000 for emergency hazmat training program

PLYMOUTH — Southern Plymouth County PHE Collaborative unanimously approves $3,000 for emergency hazmat training. The six-town group representing Carver, Duxbury, Kingston, Plymouth, Plympton, and Wareham voted to fund the Ready to Respond program on May 28, coordinated by Joyce Krystofolski. Epidemiologist Devon Donovan reported 219 disease events in April, including 112 influenza cases and 41 Lyme disease cases, marking a year-to-date decrease from 2025.
Chairman Barry Potvin noted Massachusetts budget uncertainty, with the House backing $12 million for the PHE Program against the governor's $15 million proposal, expected resolution in October or November.
