Town Meeting · Meeting of October 8, 2026
Plymouth's town moderator blocked three citizen petitions from reaching the fall town meeting floor. Town Moderator Steve Trifletti ruled Articles 24, 25 and 26 outside the scope of town meeting authority ahead of the October 17 session at Plymouth North High School, citing a rule against amending the warrant by petition, a pending Superior Court injunction tied to the Airport Commission, and a charter provision on board appointments. Advisory and Finance Committee Chair Joseph Lally also reported the committee's recommendation against Article 8, a $300,000 Select Board request to repair roadways serving roughly 190 parcels near Andrews Way and Barbara's Way, urging a betterment district instead.
The committee recommended approval of dozens of other warrant items, including $2,308,955.49 in snow and ice deficit funding and $5,976,250 in borrowing for the Downtown Resilience Project. "This solution will not burden the entire town with the cost," Lally said.
