PLYMOUTH — Manomet Village Steering Committee discussed a potential data center at Holtec and trash pickup practices at its August 27 meeting. Chair Alice Baker committed to briefing the Select Board on both issues after committee members cited potential harms from a data center including high energy and water use, water pollution, and noise. The committee expressed concern about 11 licensed trash companies operating in Plymouth, with daily pickups including Sundays and limited recycling.
Police Officer Paul Reissfelder reported safety improvements: a new speed sign on Beach Street and left-turn arrows at Beaver Dam Road and Route 3A. A Rules of Procedure Sub-Committee voted 2-1 to table further discussion, with members Jeannette Kelly and Roberta Cappella supporting the motion and Bill Arienti dissenting.
