LUAC approves prior minutes; discusses Landers property Chapter 61A notice.

Land Use & Acquisition Committee · Meeting of May 6, 2026

PLYMOUTH — The Plymouth Land Use and Acquisition Committee approved its prior meeting minutes and reviewed recommendations on the P.A. Landers property after receiving a Massachusetts General Law Chapter 61A notice. Chair Hampton Watkins and Select Board member Bill Keohan explained that the town had rejected the initial notice and set August 14, 2026, as the deadline for exercising the right of first refusal, with a 120-day purchase period once a purchase and sale agreement is received.

Committee members explained their tiered recommendations incorporated financial considerations as part of their analysis, though Watkins clarified that full financial assessment was not LUAC's primary role. The committee also noted that recent amendments to the Plymouth Town Charter, which take effect in 90 days, expand LUAC's scope and revise appointing authorities.
