Land Use Committee defers c. 61A decision pending Town Counsel letter

Land Use & Acquisition Committee · Meeting of April 29, 2026

Plymouth Land Use and Acquisition Committee halts Chapter 61A decision pending Town Counsel review. Chair Hampton Watkins reported Town Counsel sent an April 13th deficiency letter to P.A. Landers regarding the notice of intent to sell two parcels on Landers Farm Road; Landers resubmitted April 15th; and Town Counsel is preparing a second letter.

Alleged shortcomings include failure to reference an easement and whether separate pricing is required for each of the two c. 61A lots. Matt Sheridan, the prospective buyer under a purchase and sale agreement, told the committee the second notice is adequate and expects remaining objections to be minor. The committee deferred action until Town Counsel completes its review, with a joint meeting with the Open Space Committee scheduled for May 14 at the Wildlands Trust.
