PLYMOUTH — The Distinguished Visitors Committee advanced planning for a July 2026 visit from Plymouth's Shichigahama sister city, with 13 students and two teachers expected. Chair Kelly McElreath reported successful outreach at local schools, yielding 10 committed host families so far, with school officials agreeing to promote recruitment via social media. The committee reviewed activity calendars including a dodgeball tournament, Saturday dinner in Providence, Sunday education summit, and Monday visit with CAL.

McElreath is coordinating directly with Shichigahama to confirm dates and will submit a banner application for Court Street, while pursuing additional venue partnerships at Heritage Gardens, the Mayflower Society, and local distillery.
