Committee weighs c. 61A sale notice for 130-acre Landers property
Land Use & Acquisition Committee · Meeting of March 25, 2026
PLYMOUTH — Land Use and Acquisition Committee votes to tour Landers property before deciding on purchase option. The 130-acre parcel off Hedges Pond Road, with a purchase price of 5 million dollars under offer to Sheridan Home Builders, is partially protected under Chapter 61A — giving the town a right of first refusal. Chair Hampton Watkins flagged a technical defect: some smaller parcels in the sale are not c. 61A property, making the notice improper.
Committee member Ethan Warren urged acquisition to preserve a corridor of protected land and prevent large-scale residential development. The tentative site visit is scheduled for March 30th, with a follow-up committee meeting on April 1st.
