PLYMOUTH — Committee of Precinct Chairs reviews five warrant articles for spring town meeting. The panel approved minutes from prior meetings and heard presentations on the $1,336,320 FY27 Town Promotion Fund budget, Plymouth Schools' operational budget, and a military service leave statute allowing municipal employees up to forty days of paid training leave annually. The committee also examined nine tax title properties slated for transfer to the Conservation Commission with $12,500 requested for conveyance fees, a $28,492.32 citizen petition for invasive weed treatment at Billington Sea Pond, and a proposed bylaw to formalize the Police Chief's existing policy prohibiting all town employee cooperation with Immigration and Customs Enforcement.
Public comment on the immigration bylaw was divided, with supporters citing community trust concerns and opponents raising federal law and public safety questions.
