Committee backs four renewable solar articles for spring voting
Advisory & Finance Committee · Meeting of January 28, 2026
Plymouth Advisory and Finance Committee unanimously advances renewable solar articles. Michael Cahill, Climate Resiliency and Sustainability Planner, presented Articles 30 through 34; the committee unanimously recommended Articles 30, 31, 32, and 34 to voters at 14-0. These articles authorize carport solar at school buildings and the DPW, rooftop solar at the DPW Administration Building, and a renewable energy PILOT agreement framework.
Developer Greenskies LLC, selected through Request for Proposal, will finance and own the systems in exchange for federal solar credits; the town receives reduced electric costs and retains site ownership at zero capital expense. Article 33, a DPW Headquarters carport solar project, was deferred to February 25 to address building construction timing concerns.
