PLYMOUTH — The Plymouth Board of Health voted unanimously to deny a tobacco permit variance for 2 Commerce Way, keeping the town's permit cap at 43. Attorney Harley Racer requested on behalf of ENI that a permit be added, arguing the company had held one before the location was built, but the Public Health Division was instructed in January 2025 not to renew it. The site also lies less than 500 feet from an existing permitted tobacco retailer, violating proximity rules.
Vice Chair Meg Payne moved the denial, seconded by Amy Palmer. The meeting also featured presentations on Animal Control operations, Bridge Care's volunteer health clinics, the Plymouth Swap Shop, and water safety updates by Recreation Director Anne Slusser.
