Airport Commission votes to assert legal authority over operations

Plymouth Airport Commission asserts legal authority over manager hiring. The Commission voted 7-0 to demand clarification of its statutory duties after receiving notice that the Town Manager intends to assume direct control of airport operations. Chairman Kenneth Fosdick cited Mass General Law Chapter 90, which requires the Commission to hire and oversee the Airport Manager.
The vote came as the Commission prepared to search for a successor to departing Manager Matt Cardillo. The Commission also reviewed building projects progressing on schedule and received 5 December and 7 January noise complaints, none citing violations.
