PLYMOUTH — The Plymouth Airport Commission approved sewer rate increases and a 5.8 percent CPI adjustment on July 16. Finance Director Lynne Barrett reported that the Wastewater Treatment Plant costs roughly $100,000 annually but generates only $40,000 in revenue, prompting the recommendation for a $25 quarterly rate increase and 15 percent consumption rate hike; Commissioner Chris Merrill moved the rate increase, which passed 6-0-1, with Commissioner Karin Goulian abstaining. A separate 5.8 percent CPI adjustment for airport charges passed unanimously 7-0-0.
Acting Manager Brendan Nordahl outlined the 2027 budget, with fuel costs holding steady at $2.7 million and indirect costs rising roughly $60,000 due to retirement expenses. Engineer Jeff Adler reviewed the Capital Improvement Plan, emphasizing that a Fall 2024 FAA grant for design and permitting on future runway and taxiway projects creates a three-year timeline for construction completion.
